Liam Matthew Duffy departed from us on 12-08-2005 aged only 17, he battled with cancer - a brain
tumour,for the best part of his life (since he was 9 years old).
He was the strongest, bravest lad I have ever met in my life and I am proud to say he was my younger
brother. Even though he had huge amounts of time away from school throughout his illness, he still
managed to pass his GCSE's and also stayed on at 6th form at his school (Wyke Manor) to have a
go at his A levels in order to reach his ambition of becoming an accountant. Unfortunatley though
this dreadful disease took his life away way too early and I think everybody who had the pleasure to
meet Liam would agree with me that it could not have happened to a more harmless, thoughtful, caring
and brave person. Not only have I lost a brother, but also a friend, Liam had an excellent sense of
humour and although his confidence was seriously affected by the fact that he had this cruel
disease, the people who knew him best would tell you he was excellent company and great to be
around. I want to make this tribute to his life to let people know what an amazing brother I had and
to let people know how much I miss him!

hey uncle liam its owen just wanted to tell you i started big school today 26/09/2008 with lilly and it was fantastic i got to paint, play with the bikes and climb on the climbing frame. I did a picture for you and mummys put it on the fridge for you. Love you lots love owen x x

On a hill in the distance
A young boy quietly waits

His blue eyes shine so brightly
